We tend to avoid moments of transition due to the uncertainty, pain, and loss they trigger. The tales of Sleeping Beauty and Granfather Death illustrate that the refusal of this cycle feels like a punishment and curse, bringing psychological and emotional stagnation. They also show the ways we can reactivate our relationship with this ancient cycle and reconnect with the psyche’s ability to reorganize and transform itself. Come explore these themes through fairy-tale interpretation, Jung’s article 'On Rebirth', the concept of circumambulation, and active imagination. Instructor: José Leal José Leal has a master's in Jungian and post-Jungian studies from the University of Essex, where Andrew Samuels was his academic supervisor, and a master's in systemic psychotherapy from the Milton Erickson Institute in Monterrey, Mexico. He is a high school counselor at Tecnologico de Monterrey and a psychotherapist in private practice. He teaches meditation and active imagination workshops, and he studies archetypal and cross-cultural psychology with Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes.
